Posting to the Forum

Any registered user may post or reply to posts made on the Forum. Unregistered guests are provided with read-only access. Registration at Method R is retained and used only by Method R and will never be sold or shared. You can register for a Method R account by clicking here.

Boardcode

This forum utilizes a Syntax Highlighter for processing text in your posts surrounded by the [code]...[/code] tags. By default, text enclosed this way will be presented in a fixed width font, all whitespace preserved, and with color coding of SQL keywords. You may type in the tags yourself or simply highlight your code block and click the Code button in the post editor.

To enable syntax highlighting for other languages, use the tags with a language specified, like this: [code type=javascript]...[/code]. The supported languages and the proper alias to use for the type parameter are listed in the following table.

Forum Usage Notes

Using the post editor preview button—At present, the post editor Preview button does not render the code block exactly as it will appear in the submitted post. The Preview will show the fixed width text and spacing correctly, but it will not show the line numbers, syntax highlighting, or alternating line colors.
